If you are an art and culture purveyor, and you haven’t marked your calendar yet, or if you are an artist and have not reserved your spot for this year’s event…

We have an organically grown line-up that will tease your eyes, tickle your toes and tantalize your taste buds. Along with unique one-of a kind art and craft artists (perfect gifts), incredible music (diverse sounds), the New Orleans French Consulate and the Washington Career and Technical Center are providing a wonderful new addition to this year’s event…

Pastry Chef Antoine Khoraiche and students will provide free demonstrations to the general public. Audience members will be able to purchase the newly created Gallettes throughout the day on Saturday. Proceeds will help fund the Washington Career Center culinary program.

And what is a Galette? “It is a type of large, thin pancake. Historically, it replaced bread as basic food. Today it is eaten throughout the countrywide in France. It is frequently garnished with egg, meat, fish, cheese, cut vegetables, apple slices, berries, or similar ingredients,” said Washington Career Center and Technical College Instructor, Candy Palumbo.

“And the word is out! Le Feu et l’Eau–Fire and Water was featured in the Visit USA newsletter from the Visit USA Committee of France.  The Visit USA Committees in each country are the committee’s sanctioned by USTA as their official extension – the group of companies who sell business to the United States, so this goes to all the French trade industry.  And as a result, we have been included in the Air France in flight newsletter between San Francisco & Los Angeles. We have been receiving hits on our website from around the United States…Russia…France and many, many more countries, says communication director Jacqui Cochran.
